First games ever on Fort Wayne Curling Club ice
Our first day of curling in the new facility. We did a little bit of work and then played a couple of pickup games.
We started the day with Jerri and Lynn individually throwing some stones for practice...something we were never able to on arena ice.
People went out and threw some practice stones and then after a short break for pebbling, we started up a couple of games. These were the first ever games at the new facility. Pam, Logan, Russell and I played against Steve, Kenton, Keith and Sam on sheet 3 while Eric, Bruce, Bob, Andy, Sharpie and Marty played on Sheet 1. Scores aren't important. What was important is that the ice was fantastic. Not an S curve, fall, valley, ridge or divot in sight.
At one point, I asked the participants to rate the experience on a scale of 1 to 10. I got lots of tens, three twelves and one twenty-five.
