2. Minutes of Previous Meeting: May 2, 2009 Midland, MI note: we will distribute last year’s agenda and list bullet points since we do not have a true copy of the minutes due to a computer failure. Secretary Sandra Takata
3. Treasurer’s Report: John Zimmerman
- The financial statement is fairly stable and GLCA financially sound
- We must get dues in early Jan 2010
- Motion to accept minutes – accepted unanimous
4. U.S.C.A. Update: Badgero 2 reps -300-999 members
- Get dues in – aim Jan15 2010
- Championship Committee – Bill Forsyth
- Jr pds Dec 26- Jan 3 – DCC 28-29
- 5 sheets of championship rocks purchased – ready for Nationals
- Ice Equipment purchased - $9300.00 for championships played at arenas
- Ice making Certifications – just starting up – Anyone want to join the committee? Does not need to be a board member.

5. New Business:Elect Director to USCA – Three Year Term - May 1, 2009 to April 30, 2012

- Oct 24-25 Officiating clinic Level 1, Level 2. Info on USCA, GLCA and Kalamazoo CC websites. $50/day
- Kalamazoo USA Curling Nationals Organizing Committee
- 7 went to Denver to Olympic trials
- Volunteers are very enthusiastic
- Duda Event – had Joe Polo out to event
- Radisson is host hotel
- Tickets –already sold 8 tickets
- $10 opening day – ceremonies, men and women’s draw
- General admission until finals
- Fan zone, Bar, Restaurants, Bands
- GLCA will take out an ad in the programme
- GLCA Playdowns
- Robb has put together guideline matrix for draw setups etc.
- The guideline text will be updated in the next month or so. Will be distributed and will be decided upon well before the playdowns.T

- Currently 3 club rotation for men’s and women’s, 4 club for mixed – encouragement of other clubs to participate (Columbus, CSC)

7. Club Commentary/Calendar
- DCC – Registration – Thursday leagues are already full. Hoping numbers go up. Plan to send officials to Kalamazoo
- Kalamazoo – Registration – full 2 draws. Fall is down from winter. The learn to curls are bringing people in but not signing up for league. Will be sending out emails looking for commitments for Nationals.
- Midland – Improvements to the icehouse – eg. heat. Youth is growing quickly. M/W/mixed are growing. Big mixed spiel Halloween
- Oct 24 instructors clinic.
- GSMCC – Rocky Top successful. Currently 6 teams Sundays.
- BGCC – Ladies spiel Nov 7-8. Ready for season. University was looking at shutting down hockey team but won’t know until next year. The curling ice may become mixed use.
- Mayfield – Mens Nov 13-15. Evergreen Feb 25-28 Woodstock theme. Members are steady numbers.
- Copper Country – Ice will be after Thanksgiving. Adding 2 nights of curling and juggling times to keep interest.
- Columbus – 3rd sheet is in and being flodded. Purchased a furnace and lights. Video system is in. Dec 11-13 open spiel. Mar 6-7 womens. Womens 5 and under. Mens date unknown. Wheelchair curling clinic Nov 11-12.
- Circle City – 501c3, lost the rink and now at PanAm Center. Season Oct 23- end of January 1 night/w. Feb- April – 2 nights/week
- Cleveland Skate Club – playing once/month through the summer. Restructured the dues. Start in late Oct. Mixed last weekend Jan.
